Research

Unfortunately, I didn't publish any papers in the past year, but I worked on various research projects. We have papers that are under review and hope they can be published very soon.

Research is something that requires a lot of dedication, yet much effort is in vain, as most experiments will yield negative results, especially for neuroscience. But making discoveries is very exciting.

Student Achievement

This year, I am so proud to announce that one of my mentored students got an offer from Stanford University, which is also a milestone for me. I just want to congratulate her on her achievement, and I believe that she will start a fantastic journey at Stanford.

Subscribers

For my YouTube channel, the number of subscribers increased to 162, and for my Bilibili channel, it stabilized at 3.1k. This is because, over the past year, I didn't have enough time to update the content for both channels.

I still want to say "Thank you" to those who support my channel! Hope the contents are helpful.

Investment

Over the past year, I have restarted my investment in different markets, such as stocks and crypto. I realized that I should've quit my investment journey because compounding can make you rich slowly.

To my surprise, the Canadian market performed extremely well with a YTD return of 17.64%. I didn't pick an individual stock, but rather an ETF that focuses on the banks and utilities.

For the US market, two trades that have the highest return are NASDAQ:APLD with over 300% return, and NASDAQ:RKLB with almost 130% return.

Bitcoin has surged to ATH at $120,000, but in the last two months of the year, it dropped back to around $88,000, which has the worst performance across all assets. Also, due to the terrible performance of BTC, my position in NASDAQ:MSTR now has almost a 50% loss.

New Gadget

• Ledger Flex - The hardware wallet is used for storing all my BTC securely (Although it is very disappointing that I have so little BTC... Haha).

Startup

Starting from early this year, I started a new tutoring company, Radiance Education, focusing on K-12 teaching and academic guidance. Here are the classes we have:

• Math and English classes for kids;
• OSSD for high school students;
• AP Calculus BC;
• AP Chemistry;
• AP Biology;
• AP Micro- and Marcoeconomics;
• AMC 8/10/12;
• Preparation for other STEM competitions.

Now, we have served over 40 families and over 100 of kids in GTA.

Future Direction

I haven't thought about anything in 2026 yet. However, I feel that 2026 could be a very important year for me.
